In Front of Anies, Pramono Boasts That Transport Access to JIS Has Become Easier
The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung Wibowo, said that transport access to Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) has become easier. He stated this in the presence of former Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, who attended the Cap Go Meh 2026 celebration at Pancoran Chinatown Point Mall, Taman Sari, West Jakarta, on Tuesday, 3 March 2026. ‘The legacy Mas Anies that is extraordinary is JIS,’ Pramono said at the Cap Go Meh event in Glodok on Tuesday, 3 March 2026. According to him, access to JIS has now been built to ease for the public. ‘The KRL, Mas Anies, will stop at JIS. The station is already finalised; hopefully it will be completed soon,’ he said. Pramono said the station would be inaugurated in May. He invited Anies to attend the station inauguration. Because, he said, with JIS connected to Ancol and easy transport access there, this is believed to address the parking issues at JIS. ‘So people only need to walk about 350 metres; all cars can park at Ancol, or motorbikes can park at Ancol, so JIS really becomes the place I call the future of Jakarta,’ he said. Earlier, construction of the Pedestrian Overpass (JPO) linking JIS and Ancol had begun and is targeted to be usable by the public in June. The JPO measures 466 metres in total, comprising a 166-metre bridge and a 300-metre pedestrian path. The bridge width is about 6.6 metres and the road clearance height 5.1 metres. The bridge facade curves to resemble JIS, with reinforced concrete and steel structure. Alongside the JPO, work is also underway on commuter line infrastructure in the Ancol area, targeted for completion in April. ‘Thus in June, when Jakarta’s anniversary events are held at JIS or Ancol, it will certainly be easier for people from anywhere to attend,’ Pramono said.
