In 20 Days of Ramadhan, Total Visitors to al-Masjid al-Haram and al-Masjid al-Nabawi Near 100 Million Worshippers
Al-Masjid al-Haram in Makkah and al-Masjid al-Nabawi in Madinah have received a combined total of 96,638,865 worshippers since the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadhan.
This was announced last Tuesday by the General Authority for the Care and Management of Al-Masjid al-Haram and Al-Masjid al-Nabawi, according to the Saudi Gazette website on Thursday, 12 March 2026.
Al-Masjid al-Haram welcomed 57,595,401 worshippers for the five daily prayers and nightly prayers, in addition to 15,605,086 Umrah pilgrims, between 1 and 20 Ramadhan, according to operational indicators measuring the total number of worshippers entering prayer areas and Umrah zones.
At Al-Masjid al-Nabawi, management recorded 21,143,259 visitors for the five daily prayers and nightly prayers. Meanwhile, 579,191 people performed prayers at Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah, and 1,715,928 visitors paid respects to the Prophet Muhammad and his two companions.
Management officials stated that these figures reflect a high level of operational readiness and an integrated service system provided to visitors at the Two Holy Mosques during Ramadhan, which helped ensure smooth movement and a safe and spiritually conducive environment for worship.
These figures also highlight the high number of visitors to the two holy mosques during Ramadhan amidst the month’s profound spiritual significance.
Additionally, the General Authority for Public Transport (TGA) announced that the Haramain High-Speed Railway transported more than 700,000 passengers, including visitors and pilgrims, from the beginning of Ramadhan through the twentieth day of the blessed month.
The General Authority for Public Transport explained that the number of journeys operated by the Haramain High-Speed Railway exceeded 2,300.
