Approximately 270 foreign nationals (WNA) in Bali have applied for Emergency Forced Residence Permits (ITKT) from 28 February to 8 March 2026 at 16.00 WITA, following the impact of the conflict in the Middle East region.

Felucia Sengky Ratna, Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration Bali, explained that this policy has been granted to foreign nationals affected by the conflict who are unable to return to their home countries.

“Based on data until 8 March at 16.00 WITA, approximately 270 foreign nationals have applied for emergency residence permit extensions,” she stated on Monday (9 March 2026).

The ITKT applications have been submitted to several immigration offices in Bali, namely the Ngurah Rai and Denpasar Immigration Offices, whilst the Singaraja Immigration Office has not yet received any applications.

Meanwhile, the number of passengers affected by the Middle East conflict reached approximately 11,200 persons, comprising approximately 10,700 foreign nationals and the remainder being Indonesian citizens.

However, not all affected foreign nationals have applied for residence permit extensions. The immigration authorities suspect that most still possess valid residence permits.

“Most likely their residence permits are still valid. At our helpdesks and information posts, we have also provided information to all affected foreign nationals that they can apply for extensions,” she explained.

She emphasised that Emergency Forced Residence Permits are granted for 30 days and can be extended free of charge at no cost.

“What we must emphasise is zero rupiah. We must prevent any individuals from exploiting the situation by claiming to represent immigration to demand payment,” she stressed.

To facilitate the process, Bali Immigration has also opened ITKT application services at all immigration offices in Bali without domicile restrictions.

“Whether they are in Denpasar they can apply in Denpasar, in Ngurah Rai it is also possible, and even if they are in Singaraja they are welcome,” she said.

This policy is granted to all affected foreign nationals without distinction regarding their purpose of arrival in Bali, whether as tourists, business people, or for other activities.
