Anyway - look on the bright side. I now know where there are a few new jobs opened up. Time for me to get on the phone and solve their problems!

I'd suggest you shut the gate but someone nicked half of it.

Still , at least while there are smiling blood sucking scum, we can keep in business.

some real oddities in this story.

 Quote:
Ibrahim said the three had been arrested last Friday when they were about to extend their temporary visa.

excuse me, but if they had tourist visas, then (legal) extension is impossible! so what was it; a tourist visa (VoA), or perhaps an extendable business or social visa? why is the head of Bogor immigration office clearly lying about this? maybe he was misquoted ...

 Quote:
Foreigners working in Indonesia should have working visa from Immigration Office and working permit issued by the Ministry of Manpower. They also have to pay income tax, said Ibrahim.

indeed, they should pay income tax. but this is not your dept, is it Pak Ibrahim? why bring it up? are you also head of the tax office in Bogor? and how much does Pak Ibrahim know about the complexities of foreign workers and tax numbers?

 Quote:
He added that the Bogor Immigration office has been processing the dossiers of the three Malaysians which would soon be submitted to the local public prosecution office.

prosecuted? good grief. why were they not just deported? the answer is money: these malaysians refused to pay up.

BOGOR, West Java (Antara): The Bogor Immigration Office has arrested three Malaysians, identified as The Choong Eng (53), Yap Yuen Loy (43), and Tee Kok Khing (31), for violating immigration permits and other papers, an official said.

"The three Malaysians used their tourist visas for employment in a company in Bogor. They worked at the quality control division of PT Mastrotto Indonesia in Sentul, Bogor," said head of the Bogor Immigration Office Ibrahim Saleh on Monday.

Ibrahim said the three had been arrested last Friday when they were about to extend their temporary visa.

Foreigners working in Indonesia should have working visa from Immigration Office and working permit issued by the Ministry of Manpower. They also have to pay income tax, said Ibrahim.

He added that the Bogor Immigration office has been processing the dossiers of the three Malaysians which would soon be submitted to the local public prosecution office. (**)
