IMF replaces representative
SEOUL (Dow Jones): John Dodsworth, the International Monetary
Fund's senior resident representative in South Korea, will
transfer to Indonesia in mid-October, the South Korean Ministry
of Finance and Economy said Tuesday.
Dodsworth will become the IMF's senior resident representative
in Indonesia, replacing Kadhim Al-Eyd, who is retiring, according
to the IMF's Jakarta office.
Dodsworth will be succeeded by David Coe, the IMF's assistant
director for Africa, the Korean finance ministry said. Coe is
scheduled to start his duties in the Seoul office in early
November.
Dodsworth has headed the IMF's Seoul office since March 1998,
after South Korea requested a record US$58.35 billion bailout
from the IMF at the height of the country's currency crisis in
late 1997.
