JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Police have uncovered a warehouse operating as a storage site for illegal motorcycles on Jalan Kemandoran VIII, Grogol Utara, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta. The director of the company PT Indobike 26, initialled WS, has been designated as a suspect. Meanwhile, 1,494 motorcycles have been seized. “These vehicles come from various criminal acts. Some vehicles have also had their components dismantled to make them easier to pack or disguise,” said Budi during a press conference at the warehouse on Monday (11/5/2026). Subsequently, the motorcycles, whether intact or dismantled, are exported abroad, such as to Tahiti and Togo. The activities range from document forgery, embezzlement, money laundering crimes (TPPU), receiving stolen goods, fiduciary collateral pawning, to the unlawful use of personal data. During questioning, WS, who played multiple roles in this practice, was unable to provide proof of ownership of the motor vehicles he controlled. Citizens’ identity details from ID cards were also used to activate fiduciary guarantees or loans through applications. “This means the public cannot use their personal data again because it is compromised,” said Iman. This could potentially harm the state in terms of tax payments, as the motorcycles are then exported abroad. “This has the potential to cause losses to state finances amounting to Rp 177 billion. This is the tax payment that should have been received by the state from the sale of those motor vehicles,” stated Iman. Iman said that the actions carried out by this company form an illegal receiving network that will be further investigated by the police. So far, police have examined 18 employees at the company. “This is a network, so we are continuing to deepen the investigation and there is suspicion of involvement by other suspects, both from the vehicle suppliers, the collectors, and the exporters who carry out the export activities of those vehicles abroad,” said Iman.
