How is your fasting today? Do not miss the iftar schedule for Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), and the surrounding area today.

During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims observe fasting from the break of dawn until sunset. Throughout the day they refrain from eating, drinking, and other actions that could invalidate the fast.

Knowing the fasting timetable can guide worshippers in determining times for sahur, breaking the fast, and performing the five daily prayers. In this way, the sequence of Ramadan worship can proceed more orderly, purposefully, and be carried out optimally.

Iftar supplications

Breaking the fast is not only about quenching thirst and hunger. Muslims are also encouraged to increase supplication when breaking the fast.

Here are two duas for breaking the fast, based on the explanation of Ustaz Adi Hidayat in the video ‘Tentang Doa Berbuka Puasa (Part 2)’ uploaded to the YouTube channel.

Version One

ذَهَبَ الظَّمَـأُ، وابْــتَلَّتِ العُرُوقُ، وثَــبَتَ الأَجْرُ إِن شَاءَ اللهُ

Dzahabaz zhama’u wabtallatil ’uruqu wa tsabatal ajru, insyaallah

Meaning: “The thirst has disappeared, the throat is moist, and by the will of Allah the reward is established. Insya Allah.” (Hadith Abu Dawud)

Version Two

Allaahumma lakasumtu wabika aamantu wa’alaa rizqika afthortu birahmatika yaa arhamar-roohimiina.

Meaning: “O Allah, for You I fasted, in You I believed, upon Your sustenance I broke my fast, with Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.” (Hadith Bukhari and Muslim)

Based on Ustaz Adi Hidayat’s explanation, the practice of the above duas can be combined. So, the Dzahabazh zhoma’u dua is recited as an opening, then followed by the Allahumma laka shumtu.

Then, when is the right time to recite the breaking-fast dua? Almanhaj notes that the Prophet Muhammad usually recited the Dzahabazh zhoma’u dua after breaking the fast. This also aligns with the meaning of the dua, which is “The thirst has been quenched and the veins have been moistened…”.

That is the information on the iftar schedule for Lombok Island and its surroundings. May it be useful!
