Praise be to Allah, Who has sent down the Book as an explanation for all things, as guidance, light, and glad tidings for the Muslims. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. O Allah, send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, upon his family, and upon all his companions. As for what follows: O servants of Allah, I enjoin you and myself to fear Allah, for the God-fearing shall succeed. Allah the Exalted has said: Indeed, Allah loves those who repent and loves those who purify themselves. Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest and to Allah belongs all praise. Allah is the Greatest greatly, and praise be to Allah abundantly, and glory be to Allah morning and evening. There is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest and to Allah belongs all praise.

Dear Muslims, may Allah have mercy on you,

Let us raise our praises and gratitude to the presence of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, the Lord and Creator of the universe, Who has bestowed upon us the blessings of faith, Islam, and health, so that on this noble morning we can perform the Idul Fitri prayer on 1 Syawal 1447 Hijriah.

May prayers and salutations continually be poured upon our master, the Great Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu ’alaihi wa sallam, his family, companions, and all his followers until the end of time.

Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest.

Honoured attendees,

The Idul Fitri celebrated today is a moment when we return to our innate nature: the innate nature of faith, morals, and our role as caliphs on Earth. We rejoice and are happy today because for a full month we have been trained to restrain ourselves, control our desires, and cleanse our souls, which impacts the enhancement of our piety towards Allah SwT. It is hoped that we can implement the values of Ramadan in our daily lives, including in our attitudes and behaviour towards the universe where we live and enjoy its beauty.

In recent times, we have witnessed profound concern over the bitter reality afflicting our people and nation, as well as abroad. Flood tragedies occur everywhere, prolonged droughts, landslides, clean water crises, polluted air, climate change, and disasters that follow one after another.

These disasters have caused countless casualties in lives and property. All of this is not merely fate without cause but due to environmental damage caused by human hands, where humans should be preservers of nature but in reality become its destroyers.

Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala has clearly warned in the Quran:

Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by [reason of] what the hands of people have earned so He may let them taste part of [the consequence of] what they have done that perhaps they will return [to righteousness].

“Corruption has appeared on land and sea because of what people’s hands have earned, so that He may let them taste a part of what they have done, so that they may return [to the right path].” (QS. Ar-Rum: 41)
