Bandung Regent, Dadang Supriatna, along with Deputy Regent Ali Syakieb, chose to celebrate Idul Fitri on 1 Syawal 1447 H in Bandung Regency by performing Eid prayers with thousands of residents. The event took place at Masjid Al Fathu in the Regency Government Complex on Saturday (21/3/2026) and was attended by regional apparatus officials, as well as Forkopimda and Forkopimcam members. In his speech, the Regent, affectionately known as Kang DS, emphasised that the Idul Fitri momentum is not only an occasion for fostering ties but also an opportunity to report development achievements to the public. “Idul Fitri serves as a momentum for us to further strengthen togetherness while conveying what has been and is being done by the local government,” he stated in remarks quoted on Monday (23/3/2026). He also reaffirmed his commitment to delivering programmes that directly impact the community. “We want to ensure that every programme is truly felt by the residents of Bandung Regency,” he said. During his leadership tenure, the Bandung Regency Government has launched various strategic cross-sector programmes. In the environmental sector, several breakthroughs have been introduced, including a Regional Regulation on the Plan for Environmental Protection and Management, as well as a campaign to reduce single-use plastic waste. “A healthy environment is the primary foundation for community welfare; various policies are directed towards preserving environmental sustainability,” he remarked. In the education and health sectors, the Regency Government has rolled out the BESTI (Beasiswa titi Bupati) scholarship programme for high-achieving students, and strengthened health services through the construction of more than 62 puskesmas and five RSUD Bedas. “We continue to enhance access to education and health services so that the public receives better and more equitable care,” he added. Meanwhile, road infrastructure development is being accelerated with a budget allocation exceeding Rp 1.8 trillion. The local government has also built 28 new junior secondary schools and two new senior secondary schools to expand educational access. In the agricultural sector, the Kartu Tani SIBEDAS programme is distributed through a Rp 25 billion grant targeting 50,000 farmers. “Farmers are the backbone of the region. Therefore, we provide programmes that truly support improving their welfare,” he explained. In the social welfare sector, Bandung Regency Government targets the renovation of 7,000 unfit homes annually, and provides protection through BPJS Employment and Health for village officials, RT/RW heads, Linmas personnel, and PKK cadres. Through these various programmes, Kang DS reaffirmed his commitment to delivering inclusive and sustainable development. “We will continue to work hard so that development in Bandung Regency is increasingly felt by all strata of society,” he concluded.
