Idul Adha 1447 AH: DKI Jakarta DPRD Member Kenneth Emphasises Sacrifice and Solidarity
Idul Adha 1447 AH serves as a spiritual occasion and a reminder of the importance of strengthening social care, particularly amid the dynamics of urban life in Jakarta. Hardiyanto Kenneth, a member of the DKI Jakarta DPRD from the PDI Perjuangan faction, stressed that the annual sacrifice ritual embodies significant values such as sincerity, selflessness, obedience, and mutual care, which are highly relevant to national life. As a people’s representative, Kenneth, known as Bang Kent, views Idul Adha not merely as an annual religious ritual. Rather, it serves as a profound reflection that any mandate given by the public must be fulfilled with sincerity and responsibility. “Idul Adha teaches us the meaning of sacrifice for the greater good and steadfastness in facing life’s trials,” Kenneth stated on Wednesday (27 May 2026). According to the member of DKI Jakarta DPRD’s Commission C, these sacrifice values are crucial and relevant to uphold in Jakarta’s diverse society. The capital is still grappling with tangible urban challenges such as social inequality, economic issues, and modern life’s increasingly individualistic dynamics. Kenneth emphasised that the distribution of sacrificial meat is a tangible symbol that welfare must be shared, especially among the most vulnerable communities. “Idul Adha delivers a powerful message to break down social barriers through solidarity,” he said. On the other hand, he noted that as a national activity hub inhabited by residents from diverse backgrounds, Jakarta requires a solid social foundation to remain harmonious. Urban progress should not be measured solely by physical aspects. “I believe a strong society is built not only by infrastructure progress but also by firm human values and empathy among citizens. Therefore, the spirit of mutual assistance, tolerance, and helping one another must be preserved,” added the chairman of IKAL (Association of Alumni of the National Resilience Institute) PPRA Batch LXII. Therefore, on behalf of himself and as part of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Kenneth extended Idul Adha 1447 AH greetings to all Muslims, particularly Jakarta residents. “May the spirit of sacrifice and sincerity taught during Idul Adha inspire us all to continue working, serving, and providing the best for society. Let us use Idul Adha as an opportunity to strengthen brotherhood, enhance social care, and build a more just, humane, and prosperous Jakarta for all its residents,” he concluded.
