Ichikoh lights up Indonesia with JV

TOKYO: Japanese components manufacturer, Ichikoh Industries,
has signed a joint venture with a local firm, PT Pioneer Trading
Co, to produce headlights and mirrors for cars.

PT Ichikoh Indonesia, as the company will be known, will begin
construction of a plant next March in Jakarta which is expected
to supply headlights for between 240,000 and 250,000, mainly
Japanese, vehicles a year by 2000.

The company is capitalized at about US$14 million with 70
percent coming from the Japanese firm and the remaining 30
percent investment from the Indonesian partner.
