Hyundai and Customs Provide Guidance on Free Trade Agreements
Jakarta - PT Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (HMMI) together with the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of Indonesia has presented a strategic training programme on understanding the global Free Trade Agreement (FTA) for partner companies of HMMI. According to HMMI, the activity is a tangible step in the company’s commitment to fostering the Indonesian automotive industry, which must align with improving literacy so that partners can enhance their competitiveness and expand their opportunities in the global market. ‘Through this Free Trade Agreement training programme, we hope that this activity will not only benefit the strengthening of the supply chain for companies, but also broaden insights and practical knowledge that can help partners improve their competitiveness and expand their opportunities in the global market,’ said Hyunchul Bang, President Director of Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Indonesia, in an official statement, on Friday. According to HMMI, the training can provide deeper understanding of international trade regulations, utilisation of Free Trade Agreements, export-import procedures, and opportunities for Indonesian industry to widen participation in the global supply chain. He also stated that empowering local business partners is necessary to understand the various things that they can apply in different business needs. ‘By collaborating with the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, we want to create meaningful synergy between industry and government in developing capable, adaptive, and globally competitive local business partners,’ he added. Meanwhile, Head of the Free Trade Cooperation Section III at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Didik Hariyanto, who acted as the lecturer, assessed that the activity represents a real commitment that must be maintained to deliver global competitiveness to local partners. The training programme in collaboration with the Directorate General of Customs and Excise reflects the importance of synergy between government and industry in supporting Indonesia’s manufacturing competitiveness. By presenting experts from the government and representatives of supplier management, the programme becomes a valuable forum for discussion, learning, and strengthening collaboration.
