JAKARTA - Hundreds of students affiliated with the West Java OSIS Forum (FOJB) visited the Presidential Palace Complex through the “Palace for School Children” programme and met directly with President Prabowo Subianto on Tuesday (5/5/2026).

Oryza, a student from SMA Negeri 2 Sukatani, Cikarang Utara, had the opportunity to chat directly with Prabowo during the tour.

“I just chatted with the President, asking what time we were going to Merdeka Palace. Then we joked a bit, don’t take too long, because I want to go there,” said Oryza, quoted from a press release by the Presidential Secretariat.

The event began with an orientation session in the Hoegeng Hall, where the students received materials on the government system and motivation from Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

After the orientation, the participants were taken on a tour of the Jakarta Presidential Palace Complex, starting from Merdeka Palace, the President’s Office, to Negara Palace.

They witnessed various rooms that have been the site of important national decision-making, while gaining a more tangible understanding of the governance process.

Prabowo’s arrival was warmly welcomed by the students with applause and enthusiastic waves.

Seeing the students, Prabowo got out of his car and approached them, greeting and shaking hands directly.

The atmosphere grew even warmer when the students collectively sang a welcome song, creating a friendly and joyful sense of togetherness.

“It was really exciting, like it can’t be described. Mr Teddy also gave us motivation because students often feel afraid to reach the finish line. He said life is only once, so make it meaningful, don’t waste opportunities—that’s what I heard from Mr Teddy,” said FOJB General Chairperson Salsabila Nuria Muharam.

The event was further highlighted by a special moment when Teddy received a phone call from President Prabowo Subianto.
