Palembang – The South Sumatera Regional Police (Polda Sumsel) launched the Clean and Beautiful Environment Program (BELIDA) simultaneously across three regions as part of implementing the Beautiful Indonesia Movement initiative and efforts to ensure the Eid mudik 1447 Hijriah route is safe and suitable for public use on Saturday, 14 March 2026.

A combined 106 personnel from seven units of Polda Sumsel were deployed to undertake environmental cleaning and road repairs on Jalan Nurdin Panji, Palembang City, which holds provincial road status.

Simultaneously, the Ogan Komering Ilir Regional Police (Polres OKI) and North Musi Rawas Regional Police (Polres Muratara) also conducted similar activities in their respective regions.

The BELIDA programme positions the police as the driving force for cross-sectoral collaboration to improve infrastructure conditions and maintain environmental cleanliness at strategic points along the mudik routes.

In Palembang City, the activity was led by the Director of Community Policing (Binmas) of Polda Sumsel as Head of the Beautiful Indonesia Movement Task Force, involving seven units: Mobile Brigade (Satbrimob), Traffic Operations Directorate (Ditsamapta), Water and Air Police Directorate (Ditpolairud), Traffic Law Enforcement Directorate (Ditpamobvit), Community Policing Directorate (Ditbinmas), Special Crime Directorate (Ditreskrimsus), Public Relations Division, and Personnel and General Affairs Division.

The presence of cross-unit coordination reflects internal synergy within Polda Sumsel in supporting the national programme whilst ensuring preparedness of mudik routes.

Meanwhile, in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, the Polres OKI commander, Senior Police Commissioner Eko Rubiyanto, led road repair activities at the Three-Way Junction of Kayuagung Toll Access, Celikah Village.

A combined 65 personnel from Polres OKI, Military Command 0402/OI-OKI, Civil Service Police, Public Works and Roads Service, and the Communications Unit worked together filling road potholes using a mixture of coral stone, sand, and cement.

Repairs focused on the access to the Kayuagung Toll Gate entrance and exit, one of the strategic mudik flow routes in South Sumatera.

In the North Musi Rawas region, Polres Muratara under the command of Senior Police Commissioner Rendy Surya Aditama also conducted road repairs and community outreach activities in Sumber Makmur and Karang Anyar villages, Rupit District.

The activity targeted village roads that serve as primary access routes for public mobility in the outer regions of South Sumatera.

South Sumatera Regional Police Chief Inspector General Sandi Nugroho stated that the BELIDA programme represents a concrete demonstration of police presence directly assisting communities.

“When there are potholes or environments that need attention, we are present alongside relevant agencies to repair them. This is part of policing that truly impacts society,” he said.
