Bogor Police has deployed full strength with hundreds of integrated personnel from multiple agencies to secure the Puncak route in West Java throughout the implementation of Operation Ketupat Lodaya 2026. Strict surveillance is focused on accident and congestion-prone points ranging from Gadog Junction to the Cianjur border.

As Operation Ketupat Lodaya 2026 entered its second day on Saturday (14 March), security measures on the Puncak tourist route were significantly intensified. This step was taken to anticipate the surge in vehicle volume that frequently causes congestion on the 22.8-kilometre stretch.

The Head of Operations for the Traffic Unit (KBO Satlantas) of Bogor Police, Senior Commissioner Ardian Novianto Azhari, emphasised that security operations are conducted in an integrated manner. Personnel are not only drawn from law enforcement but also involve the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI), the Transportation Service, Civil Service Police, and rescue teams from the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) and the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD).

Specifically, Satlantas Bogor Police has deployed 128 personnel, supported by 60 personnel from the Transportation Service, 30 members of the Civil Service Police, and 10 officers each from BPBD and Basarnas. Additionally, reinforcements have been brought in from the Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) of the Indonesian National Police comprising 100 personnel, 50 personnel from the Traffic and Crowd Control Unit (Sabhara Baharkam) of the National Police, and 10 personnel from the Special Operations Unit of the West Java Regional Police.

β€œThe total force deployed on the Puncak route is quite substantial, and God willing, we can utilise this to anticipate any congestion that may occur,” said Ardian at the Integrated Post in Gadog Junction on Saturday (14 March).

The primary focus of officers is traffic management at crucial points characterised by steep inclines and sharp bends. Given the Ramadan period and the approach of Eid al-Fitr, additional surveillance is being implemented to reduce the number of traffic accidents frequently caused by negligence and difficult terrain conditions.

Ardian added that all personnel have been deployed to various surveillance posts throughout the Puncak route. The public is urged to comply with instructions from field officers and to ensure their vehicles are in prime condition before entering the Puncak area.
