How to Download Instagram Reels to Your Mobile and PC with Snapgram
Downloading Instagram Reels to your mobile or PC isn’t as complicated as it seems. You can download IG videos via Snapgram.io by pasting a single link and tapping the download button. No account or extra apps are required.
This isn’t a bug; if you want to download Instagram Reels you won’t find a download button there—it’s a deliberate design decision.
Instagram does not provide a built-in option to save videos to devices, including Reels. The reason relates to the creator’s copyright and platform strategy to keep users in the app. If you could save all content offline, why open Instagram at all?
But the need to save videos remains real. Whether saving cooking tutorials, archiving your own content, or re-watching funny Reels without data usage—these are all valid reasons.
For that, you need a third-party tool. One of the cleanest with minimal intrusive advertising is Snapgram.io, which has a dedicated feature to download Instagram Reels directly to your gallery or download folder.
What sets it apart: no watermark, no daily limit, and you do not need to login to an Instagram account.
The process is three steps, no more.
First, open Instagram and find the Reels you want to save. Tap the three-dot icon (⋯) in the top-right corner of the video, then select ‘Copy Link’. The link is copied to the clipboard.
Second, open a browser on your Android device—Chrome, Firefox, or the default browser—and go to Snapgram.io. You’ll immediately see an input field on the home page.
Paste the Reels link into that field, press ‘Download’, and wait a few seconds. Snapgram will process the video and present the download button.
Tap ‘Download’ and the MP4 file will be saved to your phone’s gallery.
If the video doesn’t appear immediately, check the Download folder in the File Manager. It’s usually there.
For iPhone users, one thing to note: use Safari, not Chrome. iOS restrictions mean downloads may not save correctly if you use other browsers. Safari works most smoothly, especially from iOS 13 onwards.
The steps are the same: open the Reels in the Instagram app, tap the share icon (paper plane), select ‘Copy Link’. Open Safari, go to Snapgram.io, paste the link, and press Download. When the video appears, long-press the download button until the option ‘Download Linked File’ appears. The video will be saved in the Downloads folder accessible via the Files app. From there you can move it to the Camera Roll if you wish.
A few more steps than on Android, but still far quicker than screen recording, which can be of poor quality.
On a PC, the process is even easier because there are no browser restrictions. Open Instagram in your computer’s browser. Find the Reels you want to save, click the three-dot icon in the corner of the video, then click ‘Copy Link’. If you can’t find that option, you can copy the URL from the browser’s address bar while the Reels are playing.
Open a new tab, go to Snapgram.io, paste the link, press ‘Download’. The video will be processed within seconds. Click the download button and the MP4 file will go straight into your computer’s Downloads folder.
No extensions to install, no additional software needed. Snapgram runs entirely in the browser on Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Opera.
Many Instagram video-saving tools circulate online. Some are full of pop-up ads, some require login, and some even add watermarks to the downloaded video. Snapgram differs in several respects that become apparent when you use it.
Firstly, it’s completely free with no daily limit. You can save as many Reels as you like in a day without limits or paywalls.
Secondly, no watermark. The downloaded video is exactly as uploaded by the creator—clean, with no logos or extra marks.
Another important point: Snapgram does not store your download history or request personal data. You don’t need to create an account, login with Instagram, or grant any permissions. Each download session is anonymous.
File quality is preserved as Snapgram fetches the original file from Instagram, so the resolution remains at the highest the platform allows, with the audio in sync.
Many ask what format the downloaded video is in and where it can be played. Snapgram downloads Reels in MP4 format. This is the most universal video format, playable on almost any device without extra codecs. Android phones, iPhone, Windows laptops, MacBooks, and even smart TVs can read MP4 files without issue. The resolution is not reduced either; Snapgram fetches the file directly from Instagram’s servers, so the quality you get is the highest uploaded by the creator. If the original video is 1080p, what you save will also be 1080p.
As for audio, the audio track is preserved in full. Background music, voiceovers, or sound effects from the original Reels remain in the downloaded file. There is no compression that shortens or reduces audio quality.
If you need another format such as MP3 for audio-only, you would need a separate converter. But for saving and replaying, Snapgram’s MP4 is more than enough.
There are some practical points to note before you start downloading. First, Snapgram can only download Reels from public accounts. If the Instagram account owning the Reels is private, the link won’t be processed. This isn’t a limitation of Snapgram alone; almost all third-party download tools have restrictions.
