House Commission X Deems Energy Efficiency Policy Will Not Disrupt In-Person Schooling
Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Commission X, Lalu Hadrian Irfani, appreciates the government’s step in affirming that the energy efficiency policy will not disrupt the in-person school learning process. This approach is deemed important and reflects learning from the experience of implementing distance learning (PJJ) during the COVID-19 period. “We believe that in-person learning should indeed be the primary priority,” said Hadrian when contacted on Wednesday (25/3). With the implementation of a zoning system, most students have a relatively short distance to school, so the impact on energy consumption, particularly from the transportation sector, is not very significant. “Therefore, maintaining the direct teaching and learning process is the right and balanced step,” Hadrian stated. He also supports the government’s flexible policy, where distance learning is applied only on a limited basis and adjusted to the needs and characteristics of the subject. For practical activities or learning that requires direct interaction, it is certainly still necessary to conduct them in person to maintain the quality of learning. “In the end, we view the energy efficiency policy as still important in facing global dynamics,” he explained. Nevertheless, the decision to maintain in-person learning is a wise step, as it ensures the fulfilment of students’ learning rights while safeguarding the quality of national education.
