House Commission III urges ad hoc judges to be more professional after Prabowo signs regulation
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy of the House of Representatives Commission III, Ahmad Sahroni, has urged ad hoc judges to work more professionally after President Prabowo Subianto signed Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 5 of 2026 on the Financial Rights and Facilities of Ad Hoc Judges.
As a legislator overseeing law enforcement agencies, he expressed great pride in President Prabowo’s commitment to the judiciary. According to him, the President has committed to attending to the welfare of judges.
“I hope the judges will work even better and more professionally,” Sahroni said in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
On the other hand, he also asked President Prabowo to pay attention to the welfare of other law enforcement officials, particularly prosecutors serving in remote areas.
“Prosecutors’ law enforcement officers also request the President’s attention, especially in remote regions,” he said.
Previously, President Prabowo Subianto issued Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 5 of 2026 on the Financial Rights and Facilities of Ad Hoc Judges, which was enacted on 4 February 2026 to strengthen the quality of judicial administration in Indonesia.
In a copy of the regulation quoted in Jakarta on Monday (4/5), it is stated that regulating the financial rights and facilities for ad hoc judges is necessary because they are officials exercising judicial power, thus requiring integrated regulation within the legal system.
The issuance of this new regulation also aims to improve judicial quality through support for integrity, professional, and independent ad hoc judges in carrying out their duties.
Presidential Regulation No. 5 of 2026 simultaneously replaces several previous provisions related to the financial rights and facilities of ad hoc judges, which have undergone several changes, including regulations on honorariums for ad hoc judges.
