Hotel nabs bag snatchers

JAKARTA (JP): Two Peruvians were detained after allegedly snatching a bag from two guests visiting a money changer in a star-rated hotel, Antara reported yesterday.

Col. Paimin Aboeamar, chief detective of the Jakarta City Police, said that the suspects, identified as Carlos Belido and Joliga Molina, are still being interrogated by police.

The victims, two Japanese guests at the Sahid Jaya Hotel in Central Jakarta, identified as Nakagawasi and Katsuni, were at the hotel's money changer when the theft happened.

The victims' bags were snatched from the counter.

The victims shouts for help alerted the hotel's security guards. The guards then grabbed the thieves, Antara reported. (14)
