Gaza — Masjid Nusantara distributed 500 packages of hot meals for breaking fast to residents and refugees on An-Nafaq Street in Gaza City on Tuesday 18 February 2026. The distribution took place opposite At-Tabi’in Asy-Syar’iyyah School, just before the Maghrib call to prayer.

The iftar meal packages, consisting of rice with mixed portions of beef and chicken, targeted invited beneficiaries and communities in nearby refugee tents. Foodstuffs were sourced from local markets to support the local economy.

Amid fuel and cooking equipment shortages, hot meals during iftar have become an urgent necessity, particularly for children and elderly people who struggle to meet basic needs during Ramadan.

200 Iftar Packages Distributed in Aceh Tamiang

A similar programme was implemented in Indonesia. On Wednesday 26 February 2026, 200 iftar packages were distributed to residents at Masjid Annida, Gerenggam Village, Sumber Karya Hamlet II, Kejuruan Muda District, Aceh Tamiang Regency.

The area had previously been affected by flash flooding that submerged the mosque and disrupted community activities. Assistance was focused on communities still recovering from the disaster.

Gerenggam Village Head Eli Kapri expressed appreciation for the support provided. “We thank Habib Isa Alkaf, the donors, and Masjid Nusantara volunteers. Amid this post-flood situation, the iftar package assistance has been very helpful and has strengthened our community,” he said.

Inaugural Communal Breaking of Fast in Sukabumi

In Jamilega Village, Tanjungsari Village, Curugkembar District, Sukabumi Regency, 100 iftar packages were distributed to residents on Sunday 23 February 2026. Thirty-three household heads, totalling 88 people, participated in communal iftar at Masjid Al-Hikmah.

For the community, the event marked the inaugural communal breaking of fast at their village mosque. Despite the building’s simple condition with a leaking roof and cracked walls, the mosque remains actively used for worship.

The iftar packages contained rice, shredded chicken curry, tofu, tempeh, fresh vegetables, chilli paste, mineral water, dates, and oranges. Volunteers navigated damaged and rocky roads, steep slopes, and slippery terrain caused by rain to reach the location.

Distribution in Gaza, Aceh Tamiang, and Sukabumi demonstrates that food security during Ramadan remains a priority across diverse conditions, whether in conflict zones, disaster-affected areas, or remote villages.
