Hosting Coordination Meeting, Gianyar BRIDA Requests Coordinated Research-Innovation
The Coordination Meeting of Regional Research and Innovation Agencies (BRIDA) across Bali was held. Sustainable, aligned, and coordinated research and innovation were discussed at the meeting titled “Collaboration of BRIDA across Bali in the Research and Innovation Ecosystem to Support the Local Development Vision”.
“This activity aims to strengthen synergy among BRIDA in Bali’s regencies and cities in developing sustainable research and innovation,” said the Head of BRIDA Gianyar, I Ketut Sedana, in his statement on Thursday (30/4/2026).
Sedana stated that collaboration with various parties, including the central government, province, regions, academics, and business actors, is the function of the meeting. Research and innovation in six priority development sectors for Bali were discussed and synchronised among BRIDAs from nine regencies and cities in Bali.
The goal, Sedana explained, is for research and innovation results not to end up only in scientific journals but to directly benefit society. This is also to prevent potential problems in natural, human, and cultural aspects.
“Therefore, strengthening research and innovation based on Bali’s six priority development sectors is needed to maintain and improve the quality of Bali’s nature, people, and culture, while promoting protection of intellectual property rights (IPR),” said Sedana.
Assistant for Economy and Development of the Bali Regional Secretariat, Luh Ayu Aryani, stated that synchronisation of programmes among regional apparatus is necessary to produce more directed and effective policy formulations. Thus, the development of research and innovation needs to be focused on various strategic sectors aligned with the “Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali” vision towards a New Era Bali.
“Through strong synergy and synchronisation, it is hoped that strategic formulations can be produced that are capable of answering sustainable regional development challenges,” explained Aryani.
