Homemade Biscuit Business Flooded with Orders, Daily Turnover Reaches This Level
Workers complete the production of Pusaka Kwitang’s biscuits in Jakarta, on Friday (6 March 2026). Ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H, the home-based biscuit business Pusaka Kwitang, which has operated since 1996, has seen an uptick in demand. Although orders have risen, the volume is still considered lower than the previous year. Total orders this year are recorded to have fallen by around 20 to 30 percent compared with the previous year. The baker said the decline is believed to be influenced by weakening purchasing power and rising prices of raw materials. The increase in orders began in late January. This trend has also helped push up turnover. Daily gross turnover depends on deliveries, with a maximum income of Rp10 million per day when there are many deliveries. Currently, Pusaka Kwitang’s biscuit business produces five types of biscuits, including lidah kucing, kastengel keju, and kue kacang, with varying prices. The lidah kucing and kue kacang produced by Pusaka Kwitang, now in its third generation, are flagship products with orders extending to Jambi and Batam.
