Lebaran homecoming traffic bound for Sapeken, in Sumenep Regency, East Java, is beginning to be seen at Celukan Bawang Port in Bali. Hundreds of prospective passengers crowded Pier 3 and the waiting area shelter on Wednesday, 4 March 2026. Nevertheless, the increase is described as still in the early stages and has not yet entered the peak of homecoming.

About 316 passengers were recorded departing for Sapeken using the Sabuk Nusantara 74 feeder ship. The number is expected to continue rising in the coming days ahead of the peak Lebaran homecoming.

The sailing route is served by two feeder ships, namely Sabuk Nusantara 51 and Sabuk Nusantara 74. Both operate a circular route with starting and ending points at Kalianget, passing through Kangean, Sapeken, Celukan Bawang (Bali), Labuhan Lombok, Badas, Bima and Waikelo, before returning along the same route.

General Manager of Pelindo Celukan Bawang, Mochammad Imron, ensures all operational services run optimally. He also continues to monitor passenger flow developments to anticipate surges.

“Currently passenger flow has started to rise but has not yet entered the peak. We ensure all facilities and services at Pier 3 are ready to serve the homecomers,” Imron said.

To enhance comfort, the manager provides passenger shelters in the Pier 3 area as a waiting area before boarding. Porter services are on standby to assist passengers with their baggage to keep embarkation orderly and smooth.

Ticket purchases can now be made online via the Easy Book app in the Play Store or the Ferinesia Mobile app. The payment system supports cashless payments via QRIS and mobile banking.

Moreover, Pelindo plans to expand the passenger waiting area at Pier 3 by approximately 75 square metres. The development is targeted for completion in 2026 to increase service capacity during Lebaran transport momentum.

As part of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo, the port operator is committed to continually improving service quality to support the smooth mobility of people and connectivity between regions, especially during the homecoming season.
