The Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri), as Chair of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) for the Post-Disaster Sumatra Region, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, handed over the phase one social assistance valued at Rp878,681,800,000 to disaster-affected communities in Aceh, North Sumatra (Sumut), and West Sumatra (Sumbar) on Friday (6 March).

Together with the Social Minister (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf, Tito distributed the Housing Filling Assistance (BIH), Social Economic Stimulus Assistance (BSSE), and Living Guarantee (Jadup). Overall, BIH and BSSE were provided to 67,886 Beneficiary Families (KPM). Specifically, BIH amounted to Rp203,658,000,000 and BSSE Rp339,430,000,000. Thus, the total aid for this component reached Rp543,088,000,000.

In addition, the government also disbursed Jadup to 248,588 Beneficiaries (PM) at Rp450,000 per month for three months. Therefore, the total Jadup budget amounts to Rp335,593,800,000. The entire aid was channelled through PT Pos Indonesia.

“There will be a further wave of assistance later,” said Tito while closing the Khanduri Nuzulul Quran Aceh Ramadan Festival 2026 at the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque complex, Banda Aceh, Friday (6 March).

Earlier, Tito had distributed aid at the event for the Disbursement of Compensation to Heirs for Hydrometeorological Disaster Victims and the Socialisation of TKD Additions for 2026 for the Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra Provinces, in a hybrid event from the MTQ Pidie Jaya Building, Aceh, Friday (6 March).

In Aceh, total aid disbursed amounted to Rp450,765,150,000. BIH and BSSE were provided to 35,085 KPM. Specifically, BIH Rp105,255,000,000 and BSSE Rp175,425,000,000, bringing the total to Rp280,680,000,000.

Meanwhile, Jadup was disbursed to 125,989 beneficiaries with a total budget of Rp170,085,150,000.

“Rp400 billion of which is in Aceh, half of it Rp241 billion is in Pidie Jaya,” added Tito.

The aid channelled to North Sumatra amounted to Rp82,809,950,000. The aid comprised BIH Rp11,028,000,000 and BSSE Rp18,380,000,000 given to 3,676 KPM, with a total of Rp29,408,000,000. In addition, Jadup was provided to 39,557 beneficiaries with a total of Rp53,401,950,000.

In West Sumatra, total aid disbursed amounted to Rp43,440,100,000. BIH Rp10,617,000,000 and BSSE Rp17,695,000,000 given to 3,539 KPM, totalling Rp28,312,000,000. Jadup provided to 11,206 beneficiaries with a total budget of Rp15,128,100,000.

Disbursement of these aids is expected to help disaster-affected communities meet basic needs during the recovery period, also supporting the acceleration of social and economic recovery in the related regions.
