Jakarta – A YouTube social media post claims that President Prabowo Subianto is deploying main weapon system equipment (alutsista) following reports that Malaysia and Singapore are threatening Indonesia’s sovereignty. The post features video clips and a narrative depicting an apparent conflict at the Malacca Strait border, stating that Prabowo will deploy fighter jets and warships. The following is the narrative in the post: “MALAYSIA DARES TO VIOLATE TERRITORIAL BOUNDARIES, IGNITING INDONESIA’S ANGER THE OUTBREAK OF THE INDONESIA-MALAYSIA CONFLICT AT THE MALACCA STRAIT BORDER”. However, is it true that Prabowo is deploying alutsista? Explanation: Based on investigations, no official government statements or credible media reports have been found mentioning that President Prabowo Subianto is deploying alutsista due to threats from Malaysia and Singapore. In fact, the video used in the post is a clip from an unrelated event. The clip featuring Malaysia’s Foreign Minister, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, comes from a press conference during the ASEAN Summit uploaded on 25 October 2025. Meanwhile, the other video related to Singapore’s Foreign Minister, Vivian Balakrishnan, originates from an emergency ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ meeting on the situation in the Middle East on 13 March 2026.
