Hidayatullah: Eid al-Fitr is a Momentum to Strengthen Unity and Social Concern
The Chairman of the Central Executive Board (DPP) of Hidayatullah, KH Naspi Arsyad, has called on Muslims to make Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah a momentum for strengthening national unity and social cohesion. He stressed that Ramadan must not end merely as an annual ritual but should produce real impacts on social and national life. According to him, acts of worship such as fasting, zakat, and various social charities during Ramadan serve as a process of character building that shapes the Muslim community to be more disciplined, empathetic, and responsible. “Ramadan must be understood as a momentum for purifying the soul of the nation, not just an individual spiritual experience, but a moral foundation for national life,” stated Kiai Naspi Arsyad, quoted from a written statement received on Sunday (22/3/2026). He assessed that the values trained during Ramadan, such as self-control, honesty, and social concern, are highly relevant in addressing the nation’s current challenges. Therefore, internalising these values is deemed important for strengthening social stability amid economic, political dynamics, and humanitarian crises. Naspi also emphasised that Eid al-Fitr is a space for social reconciliation. Differences in backgrounds, including political choices, must not become sources of division but should be managed in the spirit of inclusive nationalism.
