I was interested in the Hero (Supermarket) promotion drive,
which offered the customer an encyclopedia for only Rp 500 after
making a minimum purchase of Rp 20,000.

At the end of September 1994 I was shopping at Hero, Tomang,
West Jakarta. My total purchase showed over Rp 20,000 and I asked
for the promised encyclopedia as I paid the bill at the cashier.
I was very disappointed to hear that the encyclopedias had "run
out" and that the prize system was "no longer valid."

If that was the case, why didn't the management inform the
customers? In fact, the brochure says that the promotion will
last from Sept. 26, 1994 till Feb. 26, 1995. What about Hero's
slogan: We give you more for your money. Is this still valid?
