Here are Iran's latest demands to the US to end the war
Tehran (ANTARA) - Iran’s latest draft proposal for negotiation points with the United States calls for an immediate halt to the conflict on all fronts, urges assurances that there will be no further “aggression” against Iran, and demands the lifting of sanctions as well as the end of the US naval blockade.
The proposal highlights the need to end the war immediately, provide guarantees to prevent aggression against Iran from recurring, and addresses several other issues within the framework of a political agreement, according to a report by the semi-official Tasnim news agency on Sunday (10/5), citing sources familiar with the matter.
Additionally, the report demands a 30-day period for the US to lift its sanctions on Iranian oil sales and to release Iran’s frozen assets after an initial agreement is reached.
The US and Israel carried out joint attacks on Tehran and other Iranian cities on 28 February, killing Iran’s then-supreme leader Ali Khamenei, several senior Iranian officials, and civilians. Iran retaliated with missile and drone strikes against Israel and US assets in the region, and tightened control over the Strait of Hormuz.
A ceasefire between the warring parties took effect on 8 April, followed by talks between Iranian and US delegations in Islamabad, Pakistan, on 11 and 12 April, which ended without agreement. The US also began enforcing a naval blockade in the strait.
In recent weeks, the two sides have reportedly exchanged proposals outlining conditions for ending the conflict through Pakistan.
Earlier on Sunday, Iran’s official news agency IRNA reported that Iran’s response to the latest US proposal had been sent to Pakistan. However, on Sunday evening, US President Donald Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform that the response was “completely unacceptable.”
