Instead of eating it at school, the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme menu belonging to Indra Ardiansyah was packaged to take home. The seventh-grade student at SMPN 3 Wera in Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), wanted to eat it together with his four younger siblings at home. Indra’s act of packaging the MBG menu went viral on social media after being uploaded by the Facebook account @Aya, known to be a teacher at SMPN 3 Wera. The video was flooded with comments from netizens. In the circulating video, Indra is seen putting the MBG menu from the container into a plastic bag. The video recorder then asked the reason for packaging the food. “To take home to eat together with my siblings,” Indra replied in the video viewed by detikBali on Thursday (7/5/2026). The coordinator of MBG at SMPN 3 Wera, Sri Nurhayati, revealed that Indra is not doing this for the first time. According to her, the student has been asking permission to package the food for several days. “During the MBG distribution so far, Indra often asks permission to package the MBG menu for absent students,” said Sri to detikBali. Initially, the teachers thought the food would be eaten by Indra alone at home. However, after investigation, it turned out the menu was eaten together with his siblings. “The MBG menu packaged and taken home by Indra is to be eaten with his siblings at home. After knowing that, several students even gave and relinquished their own MBG shares to Indra,” Sri explained. Sri recounted that Indra now lives with his grandfather, aunt, and four siblings. Meanwhile, both parents are seeking livelihood in Dompu. Indra’s family is also in a less fortunate economic condition. “Indra is the most diligent student from a poor family. Every day, he walks about 3 kilometres from home to school,” Sri clarified.
