Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin has targeted the repair of all 3,000 disaster-affected health facilities in Sumatra by the end of March 2026. Budi stated that hospitals and community health centres in the disaster-affected areas are now operational.

“All hospitals, all community health centres, are now operational. We only have 21 auxiliary health centres remaining out of thousands of health facilities,” Budi said during a meeting with House of Representatives leaders at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (18/2/2026).

Budi explained there are two urgent needs requiring acceleration. The first, he said, is the disbursement of renovation funds for 8,850 health workers whose homes were affected by the disasters.

“This has been verified by myself and the Health Ministry and the Home Affairs Ministry; the renovation funds just need to be disbursed. We need to accelerate payments for the 8,875 damaged health workers’ homes, ideally before Eid al-Fitr if possible,” he said.

“Progress is already underway, but it needs to be accelerated,” he added.

Budi said the government is targeting 100 per cent repair of more than 3,000 affected health facilities by the end of March. To achieve this, he said a budget of Rp 529.3 billion is required.

“We plan to have 100 per cent of all health facilities — more than 3,000 of them — repaired by the end of March. This requires Rp 529.3 billion in funding. The request letter was submitted on 20 January, and we are requesting that the approval be expedited,” he said.
