Health clinics closed down

JAKARTA (JP): The city public order office has closed down
three health clinics for conducting illegal abortions.

The office revealed that two of the clinics are located in Jl.
Pintu Air, Petamburan in Central Jakarta and in the Pademangan
area, North Jakarta.

The head of the city health office, Aslam Lasman, said
yesterday that his office has recommended that the three clinics
be closed down for violating their permits.

"Based on our investigation the clinics conduct abortion
illegally," Aslam said

He said that his office finds it difficult to control clinics.
"My office only reports any violations committed by them to the
city public order office." (yns)
