The Head of the National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Irjen Agus Suryonugroho attended the send-off ceremony for the CNN Indonesia Go Mudik team. During the event, Irjen Agus commended the media’s role in assisting the National Police in serving the community during the 2026 Ketupat Operation.

The agenda was held at the Trans Media Building on Friday (13 March 2026). Present at the location were the Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Aan Suhanan, the Head of the Public Information Division of the National Police Brigjen Tjahyono Saputro, senior officials from Transmedia, and various stakeholders.

On this occasion, Kakorlantas conveyed the tagline of the 2026 Ketupat Operation from the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo: “Safe Mudik, Happy Family.” This mudik tagline certainly leaves a deep impression on people undertaking the journey.

“We convey that the Ketupat operation is a humanitarian operation. So it is not merely about managing the traffic flow of homecoming and return mobility, but the state is present to ensure that people who will mudik and return must be safe and secure and happy. Because the tagline of this year’s Ketupat Operation is ‘Safe Mudik, Happy Family’ and the state is ready to serve the community,” said Kakorlantas.

Irjen Agus stated that mudik is not merely an annual tradition, but a moment to return and ease longing for one’s hometown. Therefore, the state is present to guarantee safety for those heading home during their departure and return from their hometowns.

“Mudik and returning is a journey of longing—longing for one’s hometown and longing for family. It is not only the presence of the state in the field, but ensuring that the state and the National Police stakeholders convince people departing for mudik to be safe during the journey, comfortable during the journey until they reach their destination safely, until they meet their families and are happy,” he added.

Kakorlantas also discussed the flagship application Si Polan Chatbot, which is part of the 2026 Ketupat Operation.

This programme was presented as a form of innovation in safety and hospitality services from the police to support the safety and comfort of people undertaking mudik journeys, particularly for motorcyclists and those who need quick access to information during their travels.

“We provide appreciation because there is an application technology that can provide information to the public, including also picking up two-wheeled vehicle riders who will be welcomed to stop by. There is integrated service there and later their vehicles will be loaded onto a vehicle and they will be put on a bus and taken home until they reach Central Java,” he explained.

Finally, Kakorlantas urged those heading home to ensure both their physical readiness and vehicle condition before undertaking the mudik journey.

“The driver’s physical condition must really be ready, must really be in prime condition. Do not be dizzy, do not be sleepy, and do not be anxious. If sleepy, rest; do not force yourself,” he concluded.
