The Head of the Traffic Police (Kakorlantas) of the National Police Irjen Agus Suryonugroho accompanied the Ramadan Safari agenda of National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo in East Java (Jatim). During this occasion, Irjen Agus called on the public to ensure orderly and safe homecoming travel.

The Ramadan Safari was held at the East Java Regional Police Headquarters in Surabaya on Saturday, 14 March 2026. The arrival of the National Police Chief was greeted by a hadrah performance from local police personnel, followed by a recitation of Qur’anic verses by Bripda Maulana Ilyas.

On this occasion, the National Police Chief invited all elements of society to unite in facing the current tense global situation. By maintaining the bonds of fellowship and togetherness, every problem can surely be resolved for the realisation of national unity and cohesion.

“Moving forward, we must remain prepared for matters that we cannot predict. The key to all of this is that Indonesia, with all the diversity we possess, represents the strength to unite,” said the National Police Chief.

Additionally, the National Police Chief also invited all parties to help ensure the success of the major Lebaran homecoming agenda this year. He urged people to prioritise humanitarian service and uphold safety on the roads.

“We are currently implementing Operation Ketupat 2026, which is our service to the community, and we urge the public to be extremely careful on the roads,” said the National Police Chief.

“We, the National Police, together with other stakeholders, are coordinating and collaborating to serve travellers. If any members of the public plan to go home for Lebaran, the Traffic Police also invite the public to leave their houses and vehicles at the nearest police office. This is a manifestation of our commitment to service,” he added.

In line with the National Police Chief, Kakorlantas Irjen Agus Suryonugroho said that homecoming is not merely an annual tradition, but an opportunity to satisfy the longing for one’s hometown. The State is present to guarantee safety for travellers during their journey home and back to their hometowns in accordance with the 2026 homecoming tagline “Safe Homecoming, Happy Family”.

“Going home and returning is a journey of longing—longing for one’s hometown and longing for family. It is not merely the presence of the State in the field, but ensuring that the State and National Police stakeholders convince the public that those departing for homecoming must be safe during their journey, comfortable during their travel until they reach their destination safely, and find happiness with their families upon arrival,” he added.

The Ramadan Safari activity also included a symbolic presentation of gifts from the National Police Chief to orphans. The event concluded with moral guidance and closing prayers led by KH Manshur, the principal mentor of Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) in Kediri.

In attendance were Deputy Governor of East Java Emil Dardak, Regional Police Chief of East Java Irjen Pol Nanang Avianto, Commander of Military Region V/Brawijaya Major General Rudy Saladin, and a number of senior officials from the National Police Headquarters, including the Intelligence and Security Head Komjen Yuda Gustawan, Operations Assistant to the National Police Chief Komjen Fadil Imran, Human Resources Deputy to the National Police Chief Irjen Anwar, and Head of Public Relations of the National Police Irjen Johnny Eddizon Isir.
