The Head of the National Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) of the Indonesian National Police, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, inspected the readiness of the vehicle inspection checkpoint location at KM 81 of the Cikampek-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road on Tuesday, 24th February 2026. The inspection was carried out with several stakeholders as part of the preparations for Operation Ketupat 2026.

Inspector General Agus stated that the inspection was conducted to ensure the readiness of security measures for the homecoming traffic flow, with the tagline ‘Safe Homecoming, Happy Family’. This tagline aligns with the instructions of the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, which prioritises the safety of travellers.

“Today, together with all stakeholders, we are here at KM 81 in preparation for Operation Ketupat. The state is present to ensure that the homecoming journey runs smoothly until people reach their destinations,” said Inspector General Agus at the location.

He explained that this year, the National Police is preparing a new programme in the form of vehicle inspection checkpoints for passenger transport. The area, which was previously a rest area, will be used as an integrated inspection point during the homecoming traffic flow.

The inspections will focus on buses and shuttle vehicles, including vehicle roadworthiness, driver health, and the completeness of administrative documents such as driving licenses and vehicle registration certificates.

“The primary focus is on passenger buses and shuttle vehicles because they carry many people. The vehicles must be roadworthy, the drivers must be healthy, and all administrative documents must be complete,” he said.

According to him, each Regional Police will prepare one checkpoint to ensure that safety standards are met from the beginning of the journey. The inspections will be carried out collaboratively, involving the police, health personnel, the Ministry of Transportation, and other relevant stakeholders.

The President Director of PT Jasa Raharja, Muhammad Awaluddin, said that his company would prepare an integrated service post at the location as part of the 25 service posts that will be on standby on the national homecoming routes.

“The integrated service post will collaborate with all stakeholders assigned at KM 81 to be positioned as a checkpoint station,” he said.

The integrated service post will support health checks for drivers and provide information on homecoming routes, accident-prone areas, and potential traffic congestion to reduce the number of accidents during the homecoming period.

Meanwhile, the Director of Toll Roads at the Ministry of Public Works, Dedi Gunawan, assured that the infrastructure repairs on the Cipali toll road, including the repair of potholes, are targeted to be completed at the latest seven to ten days before Eid. Eid monitoring posts will also be prepared at rest areas and major national routes.

“One of our efforts is to prevent vehicle accidents. We will also be ready to repair the issues that have been raised, including the potholes, and we will strive to have everything completed at the latest seven, or even ten, days before Eid,” he concluded.

After the inspection at KM 81, the Head of the National Traffic Corps is scheduled to continue inspecting the readiness of the Cisumdawu toll road route to ensure that all major routes are ready for use by the public during the homecoming and return traffic flow of Operation Ketupat 2026.
