Head of National Nutrition Agency Asks Viral Dancing Man at SPPG to Apologise to the Public
The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, stated that he has reprimanded the man who danced at a Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) while showing off an incentive of Rp6 million. He requested that the viral individual apologise to the public. According to him, BGN also asked the person in question to issue a statement and apologise to the public. “He has been reprimanded and asked to publicly apologise to the public,” he told Media Indonesia on Wednesday (25/3). Furthermore, Dadan added that sanctions have been imposed, including the temporary suspension of the SPPG. “The SPPG has been temporarily suspended,” Dadan emphasised. He also urged that in the future, SPPGs should avoid similar actions and focus on improving quality. “We will tighten quality controls and compliance with SOPs and technical guidelines,” he stressed. Previously, the Deputy Head of BGN, Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, said that they had assigned the Director of Monitoring and Supervision at BGN to meet the man and give him a stern warning. “We have just assigned the Director of Monitoring and Supervision to meet him. I just called Brigjen Doni Dewantoro, Director of Tauwas Region II, and he has met and sternly reprimanded him,” she said. Furthermore, Nanik expressed disappointment with the man, who is a partner and owner of the SPPG. “Clearly, we deeply regret and are disappointed with the partner’s attitude,” she stated. She highlighted the viral video of the man dancing in an MBG kitchen without personal protective equipment (PPE). Nanik questioned the man’s actions. “Why overact like that, especially making content in the kitchen without PPE? Of course, we will monitor his kitchen,” she said. Nanik also confirmed that BGN has monitored the man’s SPPG and imposed a temporary suspension. The SPPG owned by the man was suspended because it did not comply with technical guidelines (juknis) after BGN’s inspection. “Coincidentally, after checking the kitchen, the layout was wrong and the wastewater treatment installation (IPAL) was not proper, so we suspended it,” she said. Nanik also mentioned that the viral man has seven SPPG points. She reminded that owning an SPPG is not a business project. “So I recall he got seven kitchens, seven points. But only one is running and has started. The others haven’t, they haven’t started operating yet,” said Nanik. “This is not a business. This is a government programme to educate children. It shouldn’t be done like that,” she added. BGN itself has suspended one of the man’s SPPGs after discovering non-compliance with technical guidelines (juknis). Meanwhile, the other six SPPGs owned by the man are not yet operational and will be closely monitored by BGN during the establishment and implementation process. “This, I don’t know about him, but the one running is only one. The other six we will monitor,” said Nanik. “(The reason for suspension) Wrong layout. There are technical guidelines, the layout must be like this. Meaning it has to be as per the guidelines. Well, the layout was wrong,” she continued. Nanik regretted the man’s action of dancing in the MBG kitchen without PPE, which became a public topic. She then reminded all SPPG owners not to do the same. “I don’t like it either, he made content in the kitchen without wearing PPE, that’s also wrong. Yes, for the learning of others. No need for strange partners,” she concluded. Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana conveyed that President Prabowo Subianto has instructed that all implementations of the Free Nutritious Meals Programme (MBG) focus on improving SPPGs. To date, this mega MBG project has been running for 1 year and 2 months, with a target of 82.9 million beneficiaries consisting of pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers. Dadan emphasised this during a special press conference on the MBG programme at the Cibuluh 1 SPPG in Bogor City, West Java, on Saturday (28/2). Dadan’s statement addressed narratives claiming that the large MBG budget comes from education, health, and government assistance positions in other ministries. Such actions were taken by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) as an evaluation step following the discovery of prominent cases. Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana stated that the MBG Programme not only impacts the food sector but also boosts public purchasing power and creates new job opportunities. Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana reminded that sweet foods, fried items, and soda can be consumed, but their portions should be reduced for balanced nutrition. Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana revealed that the presidential regulation (Perpres) on the governance of the Free Nutritious Meals Programme (MBG) or MBG Perpres has been finalised. Various MBG poisoning cases have drawn public attention. Dadan said that regarding this situation, he attended a Commission IX DPR meeting to hear input on MBG governance.
