Harsh Sanctions for Nightclub in PIK Following Bareskrim Action
The Jakarta Provincial Government has imposed harsh sanctions in the form of closure on one of the night entertainment venues or nightclubs in Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), North Jakarta. This action follows findings from Bareskrim Polri regarding suspected narcotics distribution.
Satpol PP DKI Jakarta has closed the White Rabbit PIK nightclub business location in the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) area, North Jakarta. The closure was carried out after the entertainment venue’s business permit was revoked.
Head of Satpol PP DKI Jakarta, Satriadi Gunawan, stated that the enforcement in the form of closure and cessation of business activities was carried out against White Rabbit PIK. The business location is in the PIK area, Kapuk Muara Village, Penjaringan Subdistrict.
“This enforcement is part of efforts to enforce regional regulations and mayoral regulations against business premises that do not meet licensing requirements and applicable obligations,” said Satriadi in his statement on Friday (24/4/2026).
This closure is a follow-up to the uncovering of a drug distribution case by Bareskrim Polri in March 2026. Police also conducted searches at several White Rabbit business locations, including in PIK, North Jakarta. Perpetrators and several pieces of evidence have been secured.
In response, the DKI Provincial Government through the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Office (Disparekraf) conducted comprehensive supervision and monitoring. From the results, White Rabbit PIK was declared to violate Article 54 of DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation Number 18 of 2018 concerning the Implementation of Tourism Businesses.
Due to this violation, Disparekraf DKI then proposed the revocation of the business permit. This proposal was followed up by the DKI Jakarta Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP) by issuing a business permit revocation letter on 10 April 2026.
The revoked business permit covers several activities, from bars, restaurants, drinking houses or cafes, to karaoke located in one business site.
Disparekraf DKI then sent a closure recommendation for the business premises to Satpol PP on 20 April 2026. Satpol PP then carried out enforcement based on the task letter issued on 21 April 2026.
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government emphasised that this enforcement is a form of commitment to maintaining public order and ensuring that all business actors comply with applicable regulations.
“The DKI Provincial Government urges all business actors to comply with licensing provisions and existing regulations to create an orderly and fair business climate,” said Satriadi.
Bareskrim Appreciation
Director of Narcotics Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, Brigjen Eko Hadi Santoso, stated that the sealing and permit revocation were not without reason. This action, according to him, is a quick response to serious findings related to narcotics distribution at the location.
“We appreciate the quick response and firmness of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. This step sends a strong message that there is no room for entertainment venues that allow or become facilities for drug distribution,” said Brigjen Eko in his statement on Saturday (25/4/2026).
Eko stated that the synergy between law enforcement apparatus and local government is considered a new standard in creating a clean and safe entertainment environment from the clutches of prohibited substances.
“The administrative action taken by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is very appropriate to provide a deterrent effect,” said Eko.
Bareskrim, continued Eko, continues to commit to monitoring drug distribution hotspots in the Capital. He hopes that this bold step by the Jakarta Provincial Government becomes a role model for other regions so as not to hesitate to revoke permits for businesses that violate the law.
“This synergy is the key. We from the criminal side will pursue the perpetrators, and the Provincial Government from the administrative side will close their room to manoeuvre. This is our protection effort for the community, especially the younger generation,” added Eko.
As information, the permit revocation was carried out after a joint team found evidence of serious violations related to the misuse of prohibited substances. According to the DKI Jakarta governor regulation (pergub), locations proven to be places of drug transactions must be closed without mediation.
“This operational cessation ensures there is no leeway for the management to operate again in the same format at that location,” he concluded.
