Happy Stories of Government Subsidised Housing Residents: From Renting to Owning Their Own Home
The atmosphere in the Pesona Kahuripan 10 housing complex in Cileungsi, Bogor Regency, appears lively. Children can be seen playing happily, while some residents operate small-scale home businesses. The handover of keys for the homes in this complex took place on 29 September 2025.
The presence of this housing is expected to help low-income communities (MBR) own affordable homes while opening up business opportunities for the residents.
One benefit of this subsidised housing is felt by a resident named Lili. Before moving into the complex, Lili rented a house in the Gunung Putri area, Bogor Regency. However, one day, she received a brochure about government-subsidised housing and immediately decided to survey the location.
She felt even more grateful because the programme gave her the opportunity to apply for a home ownership credit (KPR) without needing to provide a salary slip, which often burdens informal workers like her in achieving their dream of home ownership.
Lili also said that the application process for the subsidised housing was relatively quick, taking only about two months to receive bank approval.
“This helps me a lot. Because it can be paid in instalments,” she added.
In agreement with Lili, Sri, another subsidised housing resident who also runs a small grocery stall in the complex, expressed her gratitude for the subsidised housing programme.
She initially lived in the Gunung Putri area, Bogor Regency, before moving to the complex in September 2025.
