Half of Housing Loan Programme Quota Disbursed in Two Months, BRI Chief Requests Additional Allocation
JAKARTA – PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) has disbursed Rp 3.42 trillion in housing credit programme (KPP) funds as of 26 February 2026. This realisation represents approximately half of BRI’s total quota of Rp 6.10 trillion allocated for the current year.
The disbursements were made between 1 January and 26 February 2026 to 25,909 debtors throughout Indonesia.
BRI’s Chief Executive Hery Gunardi stated that the high realisation figure demonstrates strong interest from UMKM in the housing sector. “We were given Rp 6-7 trillion, and half has already been spent. The high momentum shows that within just two months it could be exhausted,” Gunardi said during a press conference at the BRILiaN Building, Club Jakarta, on Friday evening (27 February 2026).
“We may request an additional allocation later,” he added.
Gunardi explained that BRI is also supporting the tile-making programme through financing for business operators. BRI’s role is positioned between tile producers and buyers once a work contract exists.
“BRI’s role here is in the middle. So once there is a contract between the tile producer and buyer or user, BRI sits in between,” he explained.
In the initial phase, BRI will focus on financing tile producers in Jatiwangi, West Java. The financing value in that region is estimated to range from Rp 1 billion to Rp 2 billion.
“The estimated financing for Jatiwangi is probably around Rp 1-2 billion. It is not large, not yet large,” he said.
The financing ceiling reaches Rp 5 billion and can be revolved up to Rp 20 billion.
The programme also targets UMKM to purchase, construct, or renovate houses used to support their businesses, with an interest rate of 6 per cent and a ceiling of up to Rp 500 million.
