The Head of Public Relations for the Indonesian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj), Hasan Affandi, has assured that all preparations for organising the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage are complete. Hajj preparations are now entering the final checking stage for all services, including in Saudi Arabia. Nevertheless, Hasan acknowledged that there are still Hajj officials who have not received their visas.

“Hajj preparations are finished. Now it’s the final checking stage for all services, including in Saudi Arabia,” said Hasan Affandi when contacted by Republika on Tuesday (7/4/2026).

Regarding reports of some pilgrims not yet receiving their luggage and Hajj officials’ visas not yet issued, Hasan provided clarification. He stated that, in general, the visa issuance process for officials has progressed significantly. “The majority of officials’ visas have been issued, around 93 percent. The rest we are investigating why there is an issue,” he said.

He emphasised that the government is optimistic the departure of Hajj pilgrims will proceed according to the set schedule. The first batch is scheduled to enter Hajj dormitories on 21 April 2026, and the inaugural departure will take place on 22 April 2026. “Insya Allah, the pilgrims will be departed according to the schedule,” he said.

Kemenhaj continues to conduct intensive monitoring to ensure all aspects of services, both domestically and in Saudi Arabia, are ready before the pilgrims depart. With preparations now in the final stage, it is hoped that the 2026 Hajj organisation can run smoothly and provide optimal services for all Indonesian pilgrims.

Previously, Kemenhaj reminded all Hajj Organising Officials (PPIH) to enhance discipline in serving every prospective Hajj pilgrim. “The President, through the Minister, hopes that the discipline of these officials can be further improved,” said Director General of Hajj and Umrah Control at Kemenhaj, Harun Al Rasyid, in Padang, West Sumatra, recently.

According to Harun, the discipline of officials is a serious concern for Kemenhaj. Therefore, the government is equipping the officials’ discipline by involving TNI-Polri apparatus. “The President also hopes that Hajj officials are fitter, because the core of this task relates to physical fitness,” he said.
