Jakarta (ANTARA) - Saudi Arabian Hajj Service Organisers (PPIH) have requested Indonesian prospective Hajj pilgrims who have arrived in Medina to always carry their Nusuk card when travelling or leaving the hotel. “Always carry the Nusuk card when travelling,” said spokesperson for the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Maria Assegaf, during a press conference broadcast in Jakarta on Monday. She stated that the Nusuk card is an official access requirement that must be worn by pilgrims throughout their stay in the Holy Land. Individuals without the card or who fail to carry it will be denied entry to certain areas, particularly in Mecca. Therefore, the Nusuk card must always be worn wherever pilgrims go. Moreover, the barcode system on the Nusuk card contains information about personal data and accommodation details for the pilgrims. “Do not leave the Nusuk card behind, as it is a second life for pilgrims,” Maria said. The Nusuk card is a digital identity that must be used by pilgrims during their stay in Saudi Arabia. The card is provided and must be activated by the Hajj service provider company contracted by the government. This card distinguishes official pilgrims from illegal ones and includes information such as name, photo, place and date of birth, accommodation location, and other important data of the pilgrims. In addition to serving as identification, the Nusuk card is the primary requirement for pilgrims to access services and main areas, such as the city of Mecca and Masjidil Haram. The Nusuk card complements the Hajj visa that must be carried by pilgrims.
