The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has confirmed that Indonesian Hajj pilgrims recently discharged from hospitals in Saudi Arabia are on a priority list for faster repatriation so they can focus on their recovery period. Acting Head of the ministry’s Hajj Health Centre, Dani Pramudya, said the administrative process for the pilgrims’ return would be processed as quickly as possible so they would not need to wait too long in Saudi Arabia. “Pilgrims who have just finished treatment will be prioritised for repatriation. As soon as they leave the hospital, we will immediately speed up the administrative process so they can return to Indonesia soon,” Dani stated at the Indonesian Hajj Health Clinic in Makkah on Thursday. After being declared fit to leave the hospital, health officers will hand the Hajj pilgrims over to their respective flight groups. Officers will then promptly handle the tanazul process so that the pilgrims concerned can join flights with closer return schedules.

Dani added that the expedited measures consider not only physical factors but also the psychological aspects of Hajj pilgrims, who generally wish to reunite immediately with their families after treatment. He assessed that delaying the return is unnecessary if all pillars and obligations of the Hajj have been completed. Indonesian Hajj operations have currently entered the repatriation phase. The government is ensuring all Hajj pilgrims, including those with a history of illness, can return safely and comfortably. The ministry also urged Hajj pilgrims who have returned to their hotels after treatment to reduce non-essential activities, get more rest, and comply with health officers’ directives until their departure schedule arrives.
