Manager of Corporate Communication at KCIC, Emir Monti, confirmed to ANTARA from Jakarta that the number of tickets sold is expected to continue increasing, reaching 20,000 passengers by evening.

“For today, the tickets already sold from Bandung and Jakarta directions total around 12,000. The number will continue to rise as sales proceed until the last departure at 21:23 WIB from Padalarang Station,” he said.

He predicted an increase in passengers from Bandung, West Java, to Jakarta today due to the Eid holiday period and the end of the work-from-anywhere (WFA) policy.

To anticipate the passenger surge, KCIC has prepared various facilities, including enhanced services at stations, on trains, and intermodal travel integration to ensure accessibility.

Emir explained that KCIC is optimising intermodal services at all stations, including connections with feeder trains, online transportation, shuttles, and other onward modes to make passenger journeys more integrated from start to finish.

“This is crucial, especially during high-mobility periods like Eid,” he said.

“Along with tenant areas (shops) to meet passengers’ needs while waiting for departure. Additionally, supporting facilities such as free WiFi and water stations (drinking water refill points) are available,” he added.

To support comfort during this return flow period, KCIC has also introduced additional facilities like children’s play areas, station entertainment, and improved cleanliness and staff services.

“On the operational side, there is reinforcement of human resources, including service staff, security, and operational crew, who have been ensured to be in prime condition through health checks,” he further explained.

Whoosh is Indonesia’s and Southeast Asia’s first high-speed train, operating at speeds of up to 350 kilometres per hour.

The train serves the Jakarta-Bandung route with four main stations: Halim, Karawang, Padalarang, and Tegalluar Summarecon.
