H+1 Eid: 640 Personnel on Standby, Tourists Appreciate Bandung City's Cleanliness
As many as 640 personnel were deployed to clean 108 locations covering tourist areas, 64 roads, and 40 markets in Bandung City on the day after Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah, Sunday, 22 March 2026. Operational support was bolstered with 123 units of equipment, including 2 heavy machines, 2 road sweepers, 56 trucks, 6 pickup units, and 57 garbage motorcycles. Based on observations, the Jalan Dago area was monitored to be clean. Sanitation officers were seen actively sweeping since early morning. One officer, Budianto, stated that he had started his duties at dawn. “I started my shift from 05.00 to 09.00 WIB. The focus is on sweeping and ensuring the roads remain clean, especially now with many tourists,” he said. In the Radio Park area and along Jalan Riau, cleaning activities proceeded routinely with relatively clean and comfortable environmental conditions for visitors. In the Jalan Asia Afrika area, the pavements and road surfaces were monitored to be clean despite being crowded with tourists. A similar situation was observed in the Jalan Braga area, which remained bustling yet orderly, with maintained cleanliness. Several tourists appreciated the cleanliness conditions in Bandung City post-Eid. One visitor from out of town, Arif, shared his impression. “I see that Bandung is now cleaner than before, especially in tourist spots. It’s comfortable for strolling with family,” he said. Another tourist, Cici, also assessed the presence of alert sanitation officers as an important factor. “The officers seem prompt, so rubbish doesn’t pile up. This is good for maintaining the city’s image,” she said. Meanwhile, in the PKL area of Jalan A Yani, the Cibeunying Kidul sub-district head, Moch Edi Purwadi, accompanied sanitation officers in anticipating disruptions to cleanliness and residents’ comfort. The local administration actively ensured environmental cleanliness during Eid. “We continue to coordinate with field officers to ensure optimal waste handling, especially at crowded points and markets,” he said, quoted on Monday (23/3/2026).
