Amid the festive atmosphere of Eid, which is synonymous with family gatherings, thousands of upstream oil and gas sector workers continue to perform their duties in Kalimantan. They are ensuring that national energy production remains undisturbed while guaranteeing that the public’s energy needs are met.

More than 3,700 workers from PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI), along with its subsidiaries and affiliates, are recorded as remaining on standby during the Idul Fitri 1447 H holiday. They are distributed across various operational facilities, both onshore and offshore, in the PHI-Regional 3 Kalimantan area.

PHI’s President Director Sunaryanto expressed appreciation for the dedication of the workers who continue to carry out their duties during the celebratory moment.

“In every operational and business activity of the company, we always prioritise safety as the most important aspect and primary foundation,” he stated in a press release on Monday (23/3/2026).

“We believe that superior safety performance will support the success as well as the sustainability of the company’s oil and gas operations and business,” he added.

During the Eid holiday period, various production facilities in PHI-Regional 3 Kalimantan continue to operate normally. The company ensures that all activities run safely and reliably in accordance with applicable operational standards.

Sunaryanto, who is familiarly known as Anto, also reminded the importance of discipline in work safety aspects. He urged all workers to remain focused on carrying out their duties and applying best practices in the upstream oil and gas industry.

This company is part of Pertamina’s Upstream Subholding, which manages upstream oil and gas operations in the Kalimantan region, covering Zone 8, Zone 9, and Zone 10. Operations are conducted by prioritising Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.

PHI also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the government’s energy self-sufficiency targets as an important foundation for national economic growth. This effort is carried out through the implementation of best industry practices to maintain the sustainability of oil and gas production.

With the continued operation of production facilities amid the Eid holiday, the role of upstream oil and gas workers becomes one of the key pillars of national energy stability at a time when public consumption is increasing.
