Grab Halts the 'Affordable Access' Subscription Programme for GrabBike Driver Partners
Grab Indonesia has announced it will discontinue the ‘Affordable Access’ Subscription Programme for GrabBike driver partners. The decision comes as Grab Indonesia states a need for further adjustments to better stabilise the ecosystem for all stakeholders, with the policy announced on Tuesday, 19 May.
CEO Neneng Goenadi said the closure was necessary so that the ecosystem remains sustainable for all parties.
Nevertheless, Grab confirms that the GrabBike Hemat service for consumers remains available. Pricing adjustments will be implemented in a measured manner, while prioritising affordability in a market sensitive to online transport tariffs. For GrabBike Standard, the company notes there has been no fare increase to date.
Amid the changes, driver welfare remains a priority. Grab says it will continue to safeguard driver incomes through ongoing support programmes, including Hari Raya Bonus (BHR), facilitation of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan with company-paid contributions for high-performing partners, additional accident insurance, GrabScholar scholarships for drivers’ children, the inspirational partners Umrah programme, training via GrabAcademy, GrabBenefits, and the GERCEP emergency channel (Grab Respon Cepat).
These adjustments come as the government places greater attention on governance of online transport, including driver protection and welfare. In its statement, Grab says it will continue coordinating with the government and stakeholders regarding the implementation of Presidential Regulation Number 27 of 2026 for two-wheeled driver partners.
