Grab Assists 1,800 Women-Led SMEs in Mastering Digital Business Strategies
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Grab Indonesia is assisting more than 1,800 women-led MSMEs that are partners in 13 cities to understand digital business strategies, pricing management, and the utilisation of data to increase business profits sustainably.
Director of Territory Jabo & ID Central Operations at Grab Indonesia, Iki Sari Dewi, stated that this effort is being carried out through a community gathering event for women GrabMerchant partners in the Arisan Sekumpulan Perempuan Bisa (SERABI) programme, a special birthday edition for 2026 titled “Teman Perempuan Bisa: Makin Ngerti Bisnis, Cuan Makin Manis”.
“This year’s programme invites more than 1,800 participants spread across 13 cities in Indonesia,” said Iki in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.
More than just a gathering, the event is designed to transform the community into a “Digital Business Anti-Loss” movement by encouraging MSME actors to become more data-savvy and capable of increasing profits sustainably.
She mentioned that the education strategy is based on three crucial pillars for accelerating GrabMerchant partners’ businesses: first, understanding trends, which helps partners comprehend consumer demand patterns through food trend data, so they can adjust products, menus, and promotional strategies to meet market needs.
Second, BisaMatika, an online pricing workshop that teaches the real pricing formula so that online margins can cover all service costs, including promotional expenses.
Third, developing businesses, which encourages partners to utilise GrabModal Mantul wisely in their operations to expand their businesses with more planned and healthy calculations.
“GrabModal Mantul is a business capital solution specifically for GrabMerchant partners who want to scale up their businesses,” she said.
Through this approach, partners are expected to transform from simply “selling whatever sells” to business actors who can understand the most profitable products, manage costs accurately, and make data-based decisions for healthy, ongoing business growth.
The SERABI Arisan 2026 runs from late April to May 2026, visiting 13 major cities including Jakarta, Medan, Pekanbaru, Lampung, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, Bali, Makassar, Manado, Samarinda, and Balikpapan.
“This programme continues the positive impact of SERABI, which since 2023 has grown from a small community into a forum for thousands of women MSME actors in various cities in Indonesia,” she explained.
Grab notes that the majority of businesses on its platform are MSMEs, with significant contributions from women as drivers of family and community economies.
Furthermore, Iki said that many female partners have standout product recipes that are popular in the market. However, the company realises that selling in the digital realm requires different pricing strategies compared to offline sales.
Often, she said, due to high enthusiasm to attract consumers, the pricing strategies applied do not fully account for operational cost components accurately, so profit potential is not yet maximised.
“Therefore, we are here to bridge that need,” she emphasised.
In addition to targeting active women GrabMerchant partners, the event also opens opportunities for new prospective GrabMerchant partners through a Mass Onboarding session with a fast track. Prospective partners only need to bring their ID card and smartphone to register and start transacting on the same day.
With a quick and inclusive process, opportunities for additional income become more accessible. The entire series is held 100 percent free of charge.
One SERABI participant, Miranti Pramitha, owner of Toko Handmadekania in Sidorukun, East Medan, admitted that she previously often struggled to determine selling prices for her products.
According to her, the BisaMatika education session is the most anticipated material because it provides understanding of the right online selling price strategies to maintain business profit margins.
She considers this knowledge a practical solution for MSMEs to avoid losses amid fluctuations and ongoing increases in raw material costs.
Now, Miranti is starting to adjust her pricing strategies and select more profitable menus.
Since it began in 2023 in Jakarta with only 50 women GrabMerchant partners, SERABI now has more than 3,800 members in 13 cities in Indonesia.
