GPK Chairman Denies PPP 'Mass Dismissal' Rumours: Misleading and Provocative Narrative
Jakarta, VIVA – The General Chairman of the Gerakan Pemuda Ka’bah (GPK), Imam Fauzan A. Uskara, has vehemently denied allegations of mass dismissals of hundreds of officials from the provincial (DPW) and branch (DPC) leadership of the Partai Persatuan Pembangunan (PPP), as claimed by GPK Secretary-General Thobahul Aftoni.
Fauzan described Toni’s statement as a provocative narrative that risks disrupting the internal party atmosphere amid ongoing consolidation efforts.
“What Toni said is a provocative narrative amid internal dynamics. That statement in no way represents GPK’s stance, which has consistently supported the legitimate party leadership in line with government decisions,” Fauzan told the media on Sunday, 19 April 2026.
“At present, the internal consolidation process continues from the Regional Deliberation (Muswil) to the ongoing Branch Deliberation (Muscab). All cadres at every level of the legitimate organisational structure down to the grassroots are solid,” Fauzan added.
Fauzan stressed that there has never been a policy of mass dismissals as alleged. According to him, the steps taken by the PPP Central Executive Board (DPP) are solely part of organisational restructuring in accordance with party mechanisms and constitution.
Fauzan explained that the appointment of acting officials (Plt) in several regions was due to previous leaderships failing to fulfil organisational obligations, such as not conducting provincial-level regional deliberations as mandated by party rules.
Meanwhile, for branch leadership (DPC) changes, they were primarily due to the expiry of the Decree (SK) terms, not dismissals.
“Many leadership terms have expired SKs, so they are extended with the same composition. So they are not dismissed, but their terms are extended to keep the organisational wheels turning,” he clarified.
Fauzan gave an example: in East Java, 26 out of 38 DPCs had expired SK terms and were subsequently extended with the same names as before.
Furthermore, Fauzan called on all cadres to exercise restraint and not muddy the atmosphere with narratives that could fracture party solidarity. He noted that internal unity is currently the key for PPP to face upcoming political agendas.
