Govt builds another fertilizer factory
CIREBON, West Java: A spokesman for the state fertilizer company announced on Wednesday that the Indonesian government, in cooperation with the Japanese government, are in the process of constructing a fertilizer factory worth US$260 million in Karawang regency, West Java.
The project has been underway for the past two years and is set to be completed by October next year, said Arifin, the spokesman for state fertilizer company PT Pupuk Kujang.
The factory, which will be operated by PT Pupuk Kujang management, will help the government tackle frequent fertilizer shortages in the West Java area. The factory will be able to produce 570,000 tons of urea fertilizer per year. -- JP
