North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution has approved Holiday Allowance (THR) payments for Part-Time Government Employees with Work Agreement (PPPK), part-time education personnel, and temporary teachers (GTT) in the province.

In addition to the holiday allowance, Bobby has also implemented salary increases for part-time PPPK positions and honoraria for temporary teachers.

“Good news for our part-time PPPK teachers, part-time education personnel, and temporary teachers in the province regarding the holiday allowance, which has already been signed by the Governor,” said North Sumatra Education Office Head Alexander Sinulingga on Friday, 13 March 2026.

Sinulingga explained that previously, some teachers received monthly salaries ranging from Rp500,000 to Rp1 million. However, under Governor Bobby Nasution’s leadership, salaries for teachers appointed as part-time PPPK have increased to approximately Rp2 million per month. Meanwhile, temporary teachers receive an hourly honorarium of Rp90,000 per hour.

“Going forward, we will continue to increase these further, and certainly January and February 2026 salaries along with the holiday allowance will be paid out, starting tomorrow, God willing,” said Sinulingga.

According to him, improving teacher welfare is one of Governor Bobby Nasution’s priorities. Teachers are recognised as playing an important role in enhancing the quality and intellectual development of young people in North Sumatra.

“With this policy in place, we hope our teachers’ welfare improves. Some certified teachers, when calculating one month’s salary and related benefits, can achieve a take-home pay of approximately Rp4 million. On the other hand, this also motivates our teachers to improve their performance further, helping our students enhance their quality,” Sinulingga explained.
