JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Government Rice Reserves (CBP) managed by Perum Bulog have been recorded at 4.9 million tonnes, marking the highest level in history. This figure is said to increase further in the near future, with a target to exceed 5 million tonnes. This achievement was conveyed by the President Director of Perum Bulog, Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, during a working visit from Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman to the Banjarkemantren Warehousing Complex in Surabaya, East Java, on Sunday (19/4/2026). Amran’s visit to the Bulog warehouse was conducted to directly ensure the condition and availability of the Government Food Reserves (CPP), particularly rice, which serves as the primary instrument for national food stabilisation. Rizal stated that the visit also forms part of efforts to maintain transparency and accountability in managing the national food stock. “This visit is part of our commitment to ensure transparency and accountability in managing the national food stock. We are opening the widest possible access for the public to see the conditions directly on the ground,” he said. According to him, Bulog not only opens access to the government but also involves various elements of society in directly checking the stock conditions at the warehouse. “I have seen directly how Bulog operates transparently. This is important for building public trust, as there is cross-checking from various elements of society,” said Amran. He mentioned that the elements involved in the checking process include students, student organisations, academics, and experts. These efforts are carried out through the strengthening of irrigation systems and the implementation of various strategic programmes in the agricultural sector. This step is part of the strategy to maintain the sustainability of the national food supply, especially in ensuring that rice reserves remain at adequate levels. Amran’s working visit to the Bulog warehouse in East Java also reaffirms the synergy between the government and Perum Bulog in maintaining food supply stability. Perum Bulog states that it will continue to maintain public trust through professional, transparent, and accountable management of the Government Food Reserves, in line with the increase in the national rice stock volume.
